Karin Kessow

Karin Kessow (married Drbal, born January 8, 1954 in Rostock) is a former German speed skater and current - trainer. Her biggest success was the World Champion title at the speed skating around World Cup 1975 in Assen.

Career

Karin Kessow grew up in Rostock and began as a child at the SG Dynamo Rostock- West with the speed skating. In 1970, she won in the Children 's and Youth and has been delegated to the SC Dynamo Berlin. Here she trained initially at Helga Haase. Since 1972 she has been coached by Joachim Franke. At GDR championships in speed skating in 1972 it reached both over 1500 and over 3000 meters square 5

At GDR championships in speed skating in 1974 it reached both the Sprint -around competition as well as in Great all-around 4th place, a year later 3rd place in the sprint - around competition and 2nd place in the Grand -around. After she finished her playing career and studied sports science. After her studies she worked as a coach the junior speed skating at SC Dynamo Berlin. She is married to Karl -Heinz Drbal, who was also a speed skater at SC Dynamo Berlin.

Karin Drbal works as a trainer for the national junior speed skating in Berlin.
