Karl Agricola

Karl Joseph Aloys Agricola ( born October 18, 1779 Säckingen, † May 15, 1852 in Vienna) was a miniature painter and engraver.

Life

He was a student of Friedrich Heinrich Füger, Hubert Maurer and Franz Caspar Sambach. After beginning his studies at the Academy in Karlsruhe since 1793 Agricola was a student at the Vienna Academy, in 1836 the member. He lived until his death in 1852 in Vienna and was very appreciated for its miniatures in Viennese society.

In 1936 in Vienna Ottakring ( 16th district ) was named the Agricola street after him. He was buried at the St. Marx Cemetery.
