Karl August Auberlen

Karl August Auberlen ( born November 19, 1824 in Fellbach, † May 2, 1864 in Basel ) was a German Lutheran theologian.

He was the eldest son of Fellbacher schoolmaster Wilhelm Amandus Auberlen, visited after training in his father's school, the Pädagogium in Esslingen, then the seminar in Blaubeuren and studied in 1841 at the Protestant Foundation in Tübingen philosophy and theology. Disgusted by the prevailing critical and speculative direction he turned under the influence of his teacher Johann Tobias Beck the old Württemberg theologians of the villain 's school and immersed himself in the writings of Friedrich Christoph Oetinger. His vicariate graduated Auberlen Wilhelm Hofacker in Stuttgart and wrote at this time his first work Theosophy Friedrich Christoph Oetinger (1847 ). A scientific journey through Northern Germany, Belgium and Holland with a long stay in Berlin was the extension of his horizon and for attachment of personal relationships. 1849-1851 he was Repetent the Protestant Foundation in Tübingen, a job that gave him the opportunity to first academic teaching and contributing to the further development of his biblical- theological and theosophical direction. 1851-1864 he was an associate professor of theology in Basel, where he died after four years of nervous disorders.
