Karl Benrath

Karl Benrath ( born August 10, 1845 in Düren, † July 21, 1924 in Königsberg ) was a German church historian.

Benrath studied in the years 1863 to 1866 in Bonn, Berlin and Heidelberg. A year later he became senior teacher. In Italy and in England he was for study purposes from 1871 to 1875 and as a correspondent for scientific papers. Since 1876 habilitated lecturer in Bonn, he became Associate Professor in 1879. From 1890 to 1921 he was Full Professor of Church History in Königsberg. 1902/ 03 he was rector of the Albertus University of Königsberg.
