Karl Bulla

Carl Oswald Bulla (Russian Карл Карлович Булла; born February 26, 1855 in Leobschutz, Upper Silesia, † November 28, 1929 in the village Iide on the island of Saaremaa ) was a German photographer.

Life

Carl Oswald Bulla is considered the founder of the Russian photo reportage. Between 1890 and 1900 he opened in St. Petersburg, a photo agency. After the First World War, he settled in Estonia. His son Victor Karlovich Bulla documented as a photographer after the October Revolution 1917-1920 the political events in Russia.
