Karl Erik Bøhn

Karl Erik Bøhn ( born February 14, 1965 in Sandefjord, Norway, † February 2nd 2014 in Tønsberg, Norway) was a Norwegian handball player and coach.

Career

Bøhn went to his birthplace Sandefjord hunting for goals and denied 1986-1993 a total of 126 appearances for the Norwegian national team, in which he scored 114 hits. After his playing career, he was from 1994 to 1997 worked as assistant coach of the Norwegian national team. His first as a coach was the men's team of Drammen HK, which he coached between 1998 and 2002. He then served on the coaching staff of the Norwegian first division Larvik HK. From 2005 until January 2011 was Bøhn the main responsible manager of Larvik HK, which in every season celebrated the Norwegian championship under his direction and in the 2007/ 08 season won the European Cup Winners' Cup. In November 2011, he took over until the end of the season 2011/12 the top Hungarian club Gyori ETO KC, with whom he also won the national championship. From the year 2011, he was responsible for the Hungarian women's national handball team. Hungary won in his tenure, the bronze medal at the 2012 European Championship in Serbia.

Private

Bøhn was until December 2012 a relationship with the Norwegian Women's Handball Heidi Loke. On February 2, 2014, he died of leukemia.
