Karl-Friedrich Stracke

Karl -Friedrich Stracke ( born June 22, 1956 in Lichtenfels- Goddelsheim ) is a German engineer. From April 11 2011 to July 12, 2012 Stracke was CEO of Adam Opel AG. He served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO ) is responsible for the worldwide operations of Opel / Vauxhall Motors.

Life

Stracke's career began in 1979 as a design engineer in the area of ​​the body shell. After a business second degree at the GM University in Flint ( Michigan) in 1984, he took over management responsibilities for the body structure; From 1991 he headed this area.

Stracke 1993 was appointed chief engineer of the production development for presses and subassemblies; From 1995 he was director of Manufacturing Opel Bochum plant. 1999 returned Stracke back as director of product development to Rüsselsheim.

2004 Stracke was Executive Director for General Motors Europe Engineering; as such, he was responsible for the Opel / Vauxhall Motors product development and Saab product design in Trollhättan. As of 2006, his responsibility was extended to the product development of all GM brands. In 2008 he took over as Director of Global Vehicle integration and test facilities of all GM brands. Since 2009, Stracke was responsible for global product development vehicle of GM as Vice President.

12 July 2012 Opel announced that Stracke resigns from his post as CEO of Adam Opel AG. He will also no longer hold the position of President of General Motors Europe.
