Karl-Heinz Luck

Karl -Heinz Luck ( born January 28, 1945 in Unterschönau ) is a former German nordic combined.

Career

His career began Luck, who started for the SC motor Zella- Mehlis, at the age of 16 years. A few years later at the Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble in 1968 he reached the 11th place in the individual combination. A year later he won the East German championship. After he later won the race at Holmenkollen short time, he led the world ranking for a total of two years.

On January 9, 1972 Luck won five of his countrymen before the international competition in combination Štrbské Pleso. The best result of his career he was able to win at the Olympic Winter Games Sapporo in 1972 when he was still able to win the bronze medal after a bad jump power through the barrel. In March, he won the combined competition at the Lahti Ski Games. Only a year later, in 1973, he ended his active career.
