Karl Hess (painter)

Karl (from) Hess ( * 1801 in Dusseldorf, † 10 or November 16, 1874 in Bad Reichenhall ) was a German painter.

Karl Hess, a painter, brother of Heinrich Maria von Hess Peter von Hess, received since 1806 in Munich his art education and should devote his father's request, the engraver and etching. But he was soon after his inclination to painting. His role models were primarily Max Joseph Cartwright and his brother Peter. His descriptions of mountain life are distinguished by poetic conception, truth and admirable characteristic.
