Karl Holmström

Karl Johan Holmström ( born March 22, 1925 in Bjurholm, † June 2, 1974 in Jukkasjärvi ) was a Swedish ski jumper.

He started in the years 1943 to 1960 for IFK Kiruna. In the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lake Placid in 1950 it reached only number 16 His most successful year should then be 1952. In this year he became Swedish champion and won the bargain at the Olympic Winter Games in Oslo bronze medal on the normal hill. In the Four Hills Tournament 1953 Holmström could reach two sixth places in Innsbruck and Bischofshofen to a 17th place in Garmisch -Partenkirchen and a fifth place in Oberstdorf. In the end he finished in ninth place in the Tour overall standings.
