Karl Kilbom

Karl Kilbom ( born May 8, 18851961 also Kihlbom ) was a Swedish communist, later Social Democratic politician.

Kilbom occurred in 1908 when the Swedish Social Democratic Labour Party. He belonged to the left wing of the party to Zeth Höglund. During the party split in 1917, he joined the spin-off Social Democratic Left Party of Sweden, which changed its name in 1921 in Communist Party of Sweden.

In the intra-party conflicts of the 1920s Kilbom, who was from 1921 to 1922 Secretary General of the party positioned against the ultra left wing and was based on the " Right Opposition " in the Soviet Union to Nikolai Bukharin. This explains why Kilbom and the majority of Communist Party in 1929 expelled from the Comintern, that majority was constituted as an independent KP ( popularly known as " Kilbommare " since Kilbom was 1929-1937 chairman of the party ), which renamed itself in 1934 in Sosialistiska Partiet ( SP), first IVKO and then the London office belonged and achieved higher results than the official Communist Party in elections to Hugo Sillén. In the following years Kilboms positions performed again towards social democracy, a strong group to Kilbom completed her party exit 1938 at this and supported their government's policies.
