Karl U. Smith

Karl Ulrich Smith ( born May 1, 1907 in Zanesville, Ohio, † June 22, 1994 in Lake Wales, Florida) was an American physiologist, psychologist and behavior cybernetician.

Smith dealt among other things with the interaction of people and technology and was instrumental in the emergence of the research field of Human Factors, which is concerned with the safe and humane or healthy design of products, work equipment and work systems.
