Karl Wallinger

Karl Wallinger (born 19 October 1957 Prestatyn ) is a Welsh musician.

Wallinger was at a young age strongly influenced by the music of the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Bob Dylan and Love. He attended Charterhouse School in Surrey.

Wallinger's musical career began in the 1970s with membership in a number of less successful bands. In the following years he became musical director of the Rocky Horror Show. In the period from 1983 to 1986, he was keyboardist of the band The Waterboys. The single included on the published in October 1985 the third album This Is the Sea The Whole of the Moon in 1985 reached number 40 in the UK charts, with the re-release in 1991 even number 3 on the UK charts.

From 1985 he devoted himself to his own project World Party. The first publication Private Revolution ( 1987), is a blend of folk, funk and soul music and contained with " Ship of Fools" a minor radio hit. More World Party albums followed: "Goodbye Jumbo ", " Egyptology " and " Dumbing Up" " Bang! ".
