Karol Cariola

Karol Aida Cariola Oliva ( born April 1, 1987 in Santiago de Chile) is a Chilean graduate field of study gynecology, former president of the Federación de Estudiantes de la Universidad de Concepción ( Student Federation of the Universidad de Concepción ) and General Secretary of the Communist Youth of Chile ( Juventudes Comunistas de Chile), JJCC. The JJCC is the youth organization of the Communist Party of Chile. JJCC has over 5000 members and has a nationwide presence. Many prominent figures in the cultural history of Chile as Pablo Neruda, Violeta Parra and Victor Jara also been a member of JJCC.

After Gladys Marín Karol Cariola is the second woman to be appointed in the history of JJCC as its General Secretary.

In February 2012, she traveled with the leader of the Chilean student protests, Camila Vallejo, and the board member of the metalworkers' union CONSTRAMET, Jorge Murua, through different countries of Europe, to the protests of Chilean students for reforms in education and the development of any resulting protest movement to make known.
