Karol Lipiński
Karol Józef Lipiński ( born October 30, 1790 in Radzyń Podlaski near Lublin, Poland, † December 16, 1861 in Urłów in Lviv ) was a Polish violinist, composer and opera conductor.
Life
Lipinski musical world was opened to him in Lviv by the Austrian violinist and composer Ferdinand Krernes. Lipiński launched from 1811, the Philharmonic concerts - " Music Academy" called - in Lviv, where he was concertmaster and orchestra director two years later. He has conducted such as Johann Strauss with violin in hand. Its leader was Stanisław Serwaczyński, a student of Henryk Wieniawski. In 1820 he traveled to Berlin and met, among others, Robert Schumann and Louis Spohr. In 1840 he was first violinist of the royal chapel in Dresden, a position he held until his death. Previously, he had established himself as a soloist throughout Europe a name. He was at least as good friends with the famous Niccolo Paganini, despite a direct competitive relationship that they recited double concerts in public and Lipiński him his opus 10 was dedicated.
