Karst Plateau

The Karst (from Slovenian Karst, Croatian krš and Serbian крш what about " stony and barren soil " means ) is a Karst landscape in Slovenia, Italy, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and partly in Serbia, over the hinterland the Gulf of Trieste to the Dinaric Alps extends.

In it you will find numerous sinkholes, karst rivers ( including the Krka, Kupa, Slunjčica and Korana which the Plitvice Lakes National Park forms ), karst caves ( including the caves of Postojna and the Skocijan Caves in Slovenia ) and numerous caves in Croatia Velebit massif.

She was eponymous for their landscape form. The Italian part of the landscape also gave the same wine Carso name.
