Kashyapa

Kashyapa (Sanskrit कश्यप Kasyapa m. ) Is one of the seven wise men ( Saptarishi ) in Hinduism.

Myth

Kashyapas parents are according to some sources the way Marichi and Kala. He married twelve daughters of Daksha and is the father of various mythical beings: by Diti he is the father of the Daityas, with Danu he begat Danavas, with Kadru the Nagas, with Vinata the gods bird Garuda and Aruna, the charioteer of the Sun God Surya. According to some sources he is the father of by Aditi Adityas and thus also of gods and men.
