Kasongo Ilunga

Andre Kasongo Ilunga (* supposedly October 20, 1972 ) held from 5th February 2007 as a representative of the Congolese small party Unafec ( National Union of Federalists of Congo ) for a day the post of Minister for Foreign Trade of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Probably this person is purely fictional. It is unclear at whose instigation and why the non-existent party member of the Unafec got the list of ministers of the Congo.

Kasongo Ilunga was one of 60 ministers and vice-ministers who have been nominated by the Cabinet of President Joseph Kabila on 5 February 2007. Been suggested he was the Prime Minister Antoine Gizenga in January 2007 by the party leadership of the Unafec who introduced him including a photo as Vice President of Unafec - local association Masina in Congo's capital, Kinshasa, and put together with the party leader Kisimba Ngoy as prime candidates of their party to choose from. Gizenga chose Ilunga Kasongo. The day after the government was formed Kasongo handed but supposedly written by his party boss his resignation. The Unafec province chief of Katanga, the alleged home province Ilungas explained shortly thereafter publicly that there was no member of the party of that name in Katanga.

Two theories are circulating, how could it have come to the appointment of the apparent non-existent Ilunga. After the first theory, the Party had not counted on the appointment Ilungas and only intended to simulate the presence of human alternatives in the party. The second theory refers to the fact that the Unafec party leader a " Pierre Ilunga " proposed as a successor Kasongo Ilungas. Pierre Ilunga, however, is a politically discredited former justice minister of the former warlord government of the Congo, which should come into this intricate manner may in the government.

A clarification of the government spokesman Godefroid Mayombo that Kasongo Ilunga was by no means a fictitious person, meant that three people registered within a few days with the rather frequent name in the Congo Kasongo Ilunga and claimed the post of Minister. All three have been compromised by Unafec party leader as a fraud.
