Kastro -Kyllini (Greek Κάστρο (n. sg. ) Κυλλήνη ( f sg ) ) from 1997 to 2010, a municipality in the prefecture of Elis in the northwestern Peloponnese region of Greece. Administrative headquarters was the small port town Kyllini. Other districts of the municipality were Kato Panagia, Kastro and Neohori. The territory included the western part of the peninsula Kyllini. The lying on the Ionian Sea peninsula is the westernmost part of the Peloponnese. The coast is characterized by a sandy beach that stretches for many kilometers. This makes the area with domestic and foreign guests very popular.

2010 Kastro -Kyllini was merged with Andra Vida, Lechena and Vouprasia the new community Andravida Kyllini, where it has since formed a district.

Kyllini

Kyllini (Greek Κυλλήνη, former spellings Cyllene or Kyllene ) is the administrative seat. The port city is a center with schools, banks and tourist infrastructure, especially because of the port. The harbor is particularly important for the Ocean Liners, because from here ferries run to the islands of Zakynthos and Kefalonia. A former railway line to the port was shut down, but is sometimes still used for special trains.

Kato Panagia

Kato Panagia (Greek Κάτω Παναγιά ) is just 1 km from Kyllini.

Kastro

Kastro (Greek Κάστρο ) is a town in the center of Kyllini peninsula. With 800 residents, the town offers all major tourist infrastructure.

Loutra Kyllinis

The warm springs of Kyllini can be found in the village of Loutra Kyllinis (Greek Λούτρα Κυλλήνης ). This lies in the southwest of the peninsula. To the warm springs have arisen around the hotel and spa facilities.

Fortress Chlemoutsi

On a hill at Kastro stands at a height of approx. 200 m the castle Chlemoutsi. It was built 1218-1223 under the reign of Gottfried II of Villehardouin Prince of Achaia. The fortress is a highly visible landmark of the peninsula.
