Katarína Hasprová

Katarína Hasprová ( born September 10, 1972 in Bratislava) is a Slovak singer who at the Euro Vision Song Contest, in 1998.

Biography

Hasprová is the daughter of well-known director Pavol Gaspra and actress Soňa Valentová. After graduating from high school in Bratislava, she studied in the musical department at the Janáček Academy in the Czech city of Brno. In the following years she played in several musicals at home and abroad. In 1997 she received a golden lyre for the song Jedno zbohom, which allowed her a singing career.

Already in the following year, she represented her native country at the Euro Vision Song Contest 1998 in Birmingham, UK, but reached with the song Modlitba (Eng. " A Prayer "), only the 21th place with 25 participants. In the following eleven years, Slovakia has stayed away from the music competition.

The following year, her debut album Katarína Hasprová appeared. The music video for the single pilot Izabel was played frequently in the Slovak television. In 2001 she worked on her new album in the next year, the album was released as Chvíľu mnou Let. Since then, she has appeared in various roles, so she sang in musicals and appeared at many prestigious festivals.
