Kater Mikesch

Hangover Mikesch ( Original title: Kocour Mikes ) is a children's book by the Czech author Josef Lada from the 1930s. Otfried Preußler received the 1963 German Youth Book Prize for the retelling of the children's book in the new version.

Action

In the small village shoemaker Holleschitz Pepik lives with his grandmother. This has a cat who goes by the name Mikesch. Between Pepik and Mikesch developed a friendship and Pepik brings the cat successfully speaking at. Many people in Holleschitz are amazed and surprised by the polite and loving cat and close him in her heart. He gets made ​​a pair of boots from the cobbler and the tailor, because it helps him, bestowed a skirt. Besides Mikesch shoemaker grandmother still owns the dog and the pig Pashik Sultan, the Mikesch teach speaking. When local shepherd lives of stormy goat Bobesch, the latter wants to sell on the market. Pepik saves him by teaching Bobesch speaking. This now promises the local shepherd to behave in the future. Pashik, Bobesch and Mikesch become good friends. One day Mikesch accidentally smashes the grandmother of Creamer. Because of his bad conscience and fear of their reaction he runs away to look at the " big wide world " work. He achieves this with the circus Klutzki. With lots of money in the pockets, he returns with a new Creamer and gifts for his friends back home. There he meets the little white cat Maunzerle know, who is now also one of Shank's budget and has learned to speak, but not as good as Mikesch.

Filming

In 1964, the story of the cat who has learned to speak, filmed by the Augsburg Puppet Theatre and appeared in six black and white episodes. The screenplay was written by Manfred Jenning, directed by Harald Schäfer. The main role here spoke Max Bößl. Only in 1985 was followed by the four-part color production directed by Sepp Strubel, which was released in 2004 on DVD. Here borrowed Winfried Küppers the Mikesch his voice, who had become well known throughout Germany in the role of Jim Knopf 1976.
