Katherine Cassavetes
Katherine Cassavetes (* June 24, 1906 in New York City, New York as Katherine Demetre, † March 29, 1983 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actress.
Life and career
Katherine Cassavetes was born in 1906 in New York. She was married until her death with the businessman Nicholas John Cassavetes. The two were on 9 December 1929, the parents of the filmmakers John Cassavetes and grandparents of Nick Cassavetes ( born 1959 ), Xan Cassavetes (born 1965 ) and Zoe R. Cassavetes (born 1970 ). Furthermore, it is four times great-grandmother.
In 1971, she played under the direction of her son in Minnie and Moskowitz, the mother of Seymour Cassel in a supporting role, with her daughter Gena Rowlands played the other lead role. In this komödischen film drama also her grandchildren stood in front of the camera. Three years later she appeared in The Third brings the death of the director Howard Avedis and A Woman Under the influence of her son with. In the latter her daughter and Peter Falk played the lead roles. Katherine Cassavetes played as her granddaughter Xan a smaller role.
