Kathy Westmoreland
Kathy Westmoreland, actually Kathleen Westmoreland ( born August 10, 1945 in Texarkana, Arkansas ) is a former American soprano who was an integral part of the backing band of Elvis Presley as a background singer between August 1970 and August 1977. She is a distant relative of General William Westmoreland.
Life
Childhood and youth
Her first years were spent Kathy Westmoreland in her hometown of Texarkana, until the family moved in 1952 to Abilene in Texas, where she grew up and attended Abilene High School. 1962 saw the move to California, where she attended in her last school year 1962/63, the Garden Grove High School in Los Angeles and in the same class went as the four days younger Steve Martin, with whom she became friends and share the Bird Cage Theatre occurred. The 1980s
1982 Kathy Westmoreland was involved in a serious car accident in which she drew upon several injuries that forced them to a longer career break. Long stretches of the 1980s, she performed as a singer, and they always had some Elvis songs in the program. In 1984 they married and had about nine months later, her daughter Lindsey. The marriage ended in divorce after ten years.
