Katja Suding
Katja Suding, born Surman ( born December 30, 1975 in Vechta ) is a German politician (FDP). It is 2011 member of the Hamburg Parliament since March.
Professional
After graduating from the Liebfrauenschule Vechta 1996 Suding began studying communications and political science and romance languages at the University of Münster, where she graduated in 2003 as Master of Arts. After moving to Hamburg, she worked from 1999 to 2001 while studying as Head of Marketing and PR at the music- licence.com AG, of her husband's company, and then to 2002 as Director of Sales Promotion at Otto Office GmbH. Since 2004 Suding works independently as a freelance PR and communications consultant in Hamburg. In 2011 she participated in a senior position in the Hamburg public relations firm Edelman Germany, which rested during the election campaign.
Political career
2006 Suding joined the FDP. The following year she became a Board member of the FDP District Association Blankenese. From 2007 to 2009 she volunteered as editor in chief of the magazine Grosse Freiheit, the magazine for members of the FDP Hamburg. 2008 to 2011 she was represented as supplied chose citizen member of the Group in the Altona district and in the household and awards committee of the District Assembly Altona. Since 2011 member of the board of the FDP Hamburg; 2008-2011 she was Associate Judge of the Land executive Hamburg and specialist spokeswoman for the National Association for Budget and Finance. In the 2009 federal election she went to the Bundestag constituency Hamburg -Altona, but managed with 8.2% of the primary vote and 6th place not on the state list a place in the German Bundestag.
In the state election in Hamburg in 2011 Suding top candidate was their party. After the state elections in 2004 and 2008, where it was the FDP not been able to skip the five-percent hurdle, she managed in 2011 despite poor forecasts under the leadership Sudings with 6.7%, the best election result in 37 years, the re-entry in the citizenry. Since March 7, 2011 Suding thus becomes a member of the Hamburg Parliament and chairman of the FDP. As the only FDP politician they reached a direct mandate ( constituency Blankenese ). In December 2013 Suding was elected as assessor in the Bureau of the FDP.
