Katrien Aerts

Katrien Aerts ( born March 15, 1976 in Geel ) is a Belgian skier of. It starts freestyle skiing in the discipline.

Aerts learned to ski during the winter holiday with their parents. She was 15 years old, she drove never more than one or two weeks skiing a year. Only in 1998, at the age of 22 years, Aerts started to work in Switzerland and to devote himself intensively to the Freestyle Skiing and especially riding in the halfpipe as an entertainer in holiday resorts of the Belgian Christian health insurance CKK. In 2006 she took part in for the first time as Thirty Years professional competitions in France. In 2008, she launched the first time at the U.S. Open Snowboarding and won the 4th place in the slopestyle discipline, was injured but a little later in a fall on the spine. Greater success could only post back in 2011, as Aerts third in the FIS World Cup Halfpipe and eighth in the FIS World Championships in the same discipline. Also in 2011 won the bronze medal Aerts at the European Open. At the Winter X Games 2011, she was seventh. The following year, Aerts took at the 2012 World Cup on the 13th place in the halfpipe and 15th place in the slopestyle discipline. She is one of seven Belgian participants at the Olympic Winter Games 2014.
