Kaunas State Choir

The State Choir Kaunas ( lit. Kauno valstybinis Chora ) is a state choir in the second largest Lithuanian city of Kaunas. It was founded on 23 October 1969.

The choir prepared more than 150 works of music from classical to modern. He had concerts in Moscow, St. Petersburg, sang in the Russian music festivals " Russian Winter ", " Moscow Stars ". 1984 joined the choir in Paris with the "Spring Symphony" # 7 of Mikis Theodorakis ( b. 1925 ) on. Then joined with the conductor Herbert Kegel ( 1920-1990 ) at the Schauspielhaus Berlin. Choir collaborated with Yehudi Menuhin (1916 -1999 ) and was in France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Egypt, Russia on tour. It also collaborated with pianist Justus Frantz.

The choir rehearses at the Philharmonic Kaunas.
