Justus Frantz
Justus Frantz ( born May 18, 1944 in Hohensalza, today Inowrocław ) is a German pianist, conductor and television presenter.
Life
With ten years of Frantz began playing the piano. Recognized and nurtured his extraordinary talent was early on by Professor Eliza Hansen. 1967 Frantz won together with Claus Kannengießer the second prize at the International Music Competition of the ARD in a duo cello and piano, which marked the start of his international career. Repertoire
Frantz focuses primarily on the music of the Classical and Romantic. Together with Christoph Eschenbach, he has often performed pieces for four hands and two pianos. Frantz especially devoted himself to the works of Mozart and Beethoven, which he presented in cyclic performances in several European cities, and has recorded on several CD recordings.
Awards
1989 Justus Frantz was appointed Goodwill Ambassador of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and honored for his work with the Great Federal Cross of Merit. In 2005 he received the Würth Prize of Musical Youths Germany together with the Philharmonia of the Nations.
