Kazuo Shii

Kazuo Shii (Japanese志 位 和 夫, Shii Kazuo, born July 29, 1954 in Yotsukaido, Chiba Prefecture) is a Japanese politician, Member of the Shūgiin, the lower house, and has been available since 2000 at the head of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Japan ( CPY ).

Life

Shiis father was a teacher and sat for the JCP in the city council of Funabashi. Shii occurred in 1973 while studying at the University of Tokyo in the JCP one. After graduating in 1979 at the Faculty of Engineering, he worked from 1980 for the JCP in the prefecture of Tokyo, from 1982 to the Central Committee ( CC). In the 18th Congress he was elected in 1987 even in the Central Committee at the 19th Party Congress then appointed Head of the Secretariat of the Central Committee.

In the 1993 election Shūgiin Shii in the first constituency Chiba was first elected ( five seats) just with the fifth highest share of the vote in parliament. Since 1996, he was re-elected six times over the proportional representation block South Kanto.

On the 22nd Congress of the CPY in November 2000 Shii Tetsuzo Fuwa has served as the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Central Committee (中央 委员会 干部 会 委员长, Chuo- iinkai kambukai - iinchō ) from. Under his leadership, the CPY was unable to match the electoral successes of the late 1990s in Shūgiin and Sangiin elections, it is since 2007 in both chambers of the national parliament without direct mandates.
