Kazutoshi Mori

Kazutoshi Mori (Japanese森 和 俊, Kazutoshi Mori, * July 7, 1958 in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture) is a Japanese biologist and professor of biophysics at the University of Kyoto.

Mori graduated from the Department of Pharmaceutical Studies of Kyoto University and earned a Ph.D. at the University of Texas. In 1999 he received a professorship (助 教授, Eng. Associate Professor ) in 2003 a full professorship (教授) in the Department of Biophysics at the University of Kyoto.

Mori made ​​important contributions to the study of a metabolic pathway ( Unfolded protein response, UPR), to the cells in their cell compartments - in particular the endoplasmic reticulum - regulate the production of correctly folded proteins for export.
