Kcell

Kcell is a mobile phone company in Kazakhstan, based in Almaty. It was founded in 1998 as a brand name of GSM Kazakhstan and is now 51 percent Fintur Holdings BV ( TeliaSonera and Turkcell ) and 49 percent of the Kazakh telecommunications company KazakhTelecom. It is one of the leading mobile service providers in the country in the GSM standard.

Kcell currently has through its two brands, Kcell and Activ around 13.5 million customers. The provider's network is now available in more than 2499 locations in Kazakhstan. By 2012, the company plans to expand its mobile network to other settlements.
