The reserve Ke -Go is located in the south of Ha Tinh province, in the natural area North Annam in Vietnam. The surface area is 248 km ².

Appointment

By Decision No 519/QD-UBon of Ha Tinh People's Committee on May 3, 1997 Ke Go was declared a nature reserve. This was due to the rediscovery of the Vietnam pheasant ( Lophura hatinhensis ) and the Imperial Pheasant ( Lophura imperialis ) Ha Tinh province in the southern end of the 1980s and early 1990s. This natural area is the only known occurrence of Lophura hatinhensis in Vietnam dar. Nearly 100 species of amphibians and reptiles could the German biologist Thomas Ziegler evidence in Ke -Go. Large mammals are rare, due to the high hunting pressure. So there is probably no more elephants. Ke -Go home to one of the last lowland rainforests of Vietnam. Overall, the area of about 70 people is protected, including 56 Ranger. Illegal logging, poaching and collecting oil for perfume extraction threaten this habitat. The Netherlands and ORO VERDE financially support a project for the conservation of the area.
