Kearons (crater)

25.04

Kearons is a small impact crater on the back side of the Moon and therefore can not be observed directly from Earth. It is located northwest of Mare Orientale in the belt of ejecta surrounding the Mondkordillere. The crater has a relatively isolated location, there may be all the nearby features of the surface were buried by ejecta. The nearest major surface features are at some distance to the south of the crater Lewis and north- north-east of the crater Grachev. Between the mountain ranges of the Cordillera and the Rook Mountains lies to the east of the crater Lowell.

The rim of Kearons provides a rounded polygon dar. The sharp ridge is drawn in the north- west by a mini twist. Interior walls and interior floor have no conspicuous characteristics. About one crater diameter southwest of Kearons is a smaller crater with a simple ray system. In the north, the south and southwest, these rays reach a length of up to 100 kilometers.
