The Kehrwegstadion is a football stadium in the Belgian town of Eupen, the seat of government of the German-speaking community in the province of Liège. It is the home of the football club KAS Eupen.

History

The stadium is part of the town of Eupen and main user is the football club KAS Eupen. It holds 8363 spectators and has three covered seat grandstands, a covered standing terrace and a soccer canteen. Also to be found above the main grandstand lodges and a restaurant. The KAS Eupen rose in the Jupiler Pro League in 2010. For the 2010/11 season in the Premier League, the stadium had to be renovated to meet the requirements of the Belgian first division. It was completed to the desired date in October 2010. The capacity increased to over 8000 seats, the floodlights has been improved and the pitch was a soil heating. The costs amounted to about 5 million euros. In the first game in the renovated stadium on October 16, 2010, the KAS Eupen defeated the VV St. Truiden clear 6-0.

The Eupener stadium was a venue of the U-17 European Football Championships 2007.

Capacity

The Kehrwegstation has a total capacity of 8363 seats ( 5603 seats, 2760 standing), over four grandstands. With the exception of the grandstand to '1 ', as well as parts of the grandstand 3, all spaces are covered.
