Keith Joseph

Keith Sinjohn Joseph, Baron Joseph Bt, CH, PC ( born January 17, 1918December 10, 1994 ) was a British barrister, politician and member of the Conservatives. Joseph was a minister in three different governments and is considered a co-founder of the liberal think tank Centre for Policy Studies as a mastermind of Thatcherism.

Keith was from 1956 to 1987 member of the House of Commons for the constituency of Leeds North East. From 1970 to 1974 he served as Minister for Social Affairs in the government of Edward Heath's member. Following the reelection of the Conservative 1979 he was industry minister under Margaret Thatcher. In 1981, he moved to 1986 at the head of the Ministry of Education and Science.

1987 Joseph ended his political career more involuntarily than planned when he surrendered his xenophobic attitude and also wanted to invite the French right Jean -Marie Le Pen at a convention of the Conservative Party.
