Keithley Instruments

Keithley Instruments is an American manufacturer of metrology equipment such as multimeters and source meters, located in Solon, in the state of Ohio.

History

The company was founded in 1946 in Cleveland, Ohio by Joseph F. Keithley in a garage in 1964, the company moved its headquarters to Solon. Since 1995 the company listed on the New York Stock Exchange listed.

Together with the Tektronix was acquired by Danaher Corporation in 2010, since 2012, Tektronix and Keithley have a joint distribution.

Products

The company's first product was the Phantom repeater, a booster for weak electrical signals, which could be measured by using a conventional time measurement technology in the 1980s, the first source-measure units were presented by Keithley. Since 2012, a source meter on the market, with a measurement resolution of up to 0.1 fA. Such a resolution is not the case with other manufacturers on the market
