Kelly Groucutt
Kelly Groucutt (actually Michael William Groucutt ) ( born September 8, 1945 in Coseley, West Midlands, England, † February 19, 2009 in Worcester, West Midlands, England ) was an English musician. He achieved his long years as bassist of the rock band Electric Light Orchestra ( ELO) in the years 1974-1983 notoriety.
Career
Groucutt began his musical career in small bands in the 1960s.
In 1974, Groucutt of a little-known band to ELO, as this "Eldorado" was looking for a bass player for the concert tour for the album. He quickly established himself in the band and with the followers by his stage presence and the acquisition of the lead vocals on several songs. His distinctive voice can be found on the published 1975 ELO plays " Night Rider " and " Poker", 1976 "Above the Clouds", 1977 "Sweet Is the Night " and 1979 to " The Diary of Horace Wimp ". Private life and death
Groucutt has four children. In 2006 he married his second wife his long-time girlfriend Anna -Maria Bialgia.
On February 18, 2009 Kelly Groucutt suffered a heart attack and was taken to the local hospital, where he died on 19 February 2009 at the age of 63 years.
Yet on February 17 he had given with "The Orchestra" a sold-out concert in Berlin's " Admiral Palace ".
