Kemppi

Kemppi Oy is a Finnish manufacturer of welding equipment, which specializes in arc welding equipment.

Company History

The company was founded in 1949 by Martti Kemppi as Veljekset Kemppi Oy. Six years later, the first products were exported. The mid-1960s brought the first Kemppi MIG / MAG welding machine on the market.

Kemppi was in 1972, its first subsidiary in Sweden. 1978 exceeded exports for the first time domestic sales. In 1990 Kemppi was the world's first manufacturer of welding equipment, the quality certificate ISO 9001 is awarded.

The model MinarcMig ™ Adaptive 180 received the 2006 international Red Dot Design Award. In 2011, the family Kempact RA has been awarded the iF Product Design Award.

The company now has two production facilities in Lahti, Finland, as well as a manufacturing facility in Chennai, India. Added to own companies in 15 countries (including since 1985 in Butzbach ). The products are exported to 70 different countries.

Kemppi Oy is a subsidiary of Kemppi Group Oy.

Sports

Kemppi has been sponsoring the 2008 race driver Valtteri Bottas and since 2012 the Williams F1 team at the Bottas has worked as a substitute driver.
