The Kendal Power Station in South Africa is the most powerful coal-fired power plant in South Africa. It is situated 40 kilometers south west of Emalahleni in Mpumalanga Province.

It was from 1982 by Eskom, the largest electricity provider in South Africa, built. In 1993, the last block was put into operation.

The power plant consists of six blocks, each with 686 MW of installed capacity, overall it has 4116 MW installed capacity. 2001 were used as the output of which 3840 MW. The average availability over the last three years stood at 93.69 %, the average power production per year at 24,691 gigawatt hours. It produces 24.3 million tons of carbon dioxide annually.
