Kenefick is a town in Liberty County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city is located in southeast Texas, 60 km northeast of Houston, at the intersection of Farm Roads 1008 and 2797, is in the east 110 km from the border with Louisiana, in the southwest 80 km from the Gulf of Mexico and has a total of 4, 0 km ², of which 0.1 km ² water surface.

History

The Beaumont, Sour Lake and Western Railway in 1904 moved their tracks in this area and instructed the purpose Kenefick Construction Company, according to its owner which was then named along the tracks forming the settlement.

Demographic data

According to the census of 2000, there were 667 people in 235 households and 195 families. The population density was 169.4 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 98.05 % White, 0.00 % African American, 0.30 % Native American, 0.30 % Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander residents from the and 0.60 % from other ethnic groups. Approximately 0.75% were Mixed Race and 1.65 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Of the 235 households 38.7 % had children under the age of 18 living with them. 73.2 % were married couples living together. 7.2% were single mothers and 16.6 % were non-families. 11.5 % of all households were single-person households and 4.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.84 and the average family size amounted to 3.04.

28.6 % of the population were under 18 years old, 6.1 % from 18 to 24, 27.6% 25-44, 27.7 % from 45 to 64, and 9.9 % who were 65 years or older. The average age was 37 years. For every 100 females of all ages were 96.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, 99.2 males.

The median income for a household was $ 47,857, and the median income for a family $ 52,083. Males have a median income of $ 45,481 versus $ 26,513 for females.
