Kengo Nakamura (Japanese中 村 宪 刚, Kengo Nakamura, born October 31, 1980 in Kodaira ) is a Japanese football player.

Career

After his time at Chūō University, where he played for the University of team Nakamura graduated in 2003 at the second-division club Kawasaki Frontale. The following year, the club dominated the league and entered confidently into the top flight. Two years later began the most successful period of the club. 2006 was the team's runner-up, in the following year she entered the final of the League Cup and a year later she was able to repeat the runner-up. Nakamura, the playmaker from Kodaira, this was a crucial player and was from 2006 to 2009 elected four times in a row in the best eleven in the league, and once nominated for the title of Asia's player of the year.

Since his debut on 4 October 2006 Kengo Nakamura is also a key player in the Japanese national team. In the successful qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa, he scored two goals in eight games. Also for the final round, he was appointed to the Japanese squad. However, he fell in the spring of 2010, long out because of a jaw fracture. Until the World Cup, he did not come on time in shape and was not used in the preliminary round. In the next round against Paraguay, he was first off the bench. The game ended 0-0 and Japan dropped out after a penalty shoot- out.
