Kennedale is a city in Tarrant County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city is located in the central northeast Texas, on Highway 496, 16 km southeast of Fort Worth, in the southeast of the county and has a total area of 15.6 km ² without significant water surface.

Demographic data

According to the census of 2000, there were 5,850 people in 2,141 households and 1,616 families. The population density was 374.0 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 88.51 % White, 3.45 % African American, 0.75 % Native American, 0.97 % Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander residents from the and 4.29 % from other ethnic groups. Approximately 2.02% were of mixed descent, and 9.91 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Of the 2,141 households, 40.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 58.2 % were married couples living together. 12.3% were single mothers and 24.5 % were non-families. 19.2 % of all households were single-person households and 5.1 % had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.71 and the average family size amounted to 3.11.

28.6 % of the population were under 18 years old, 8.7 % from 18 to 24, 32.5 % 25-44, 21.5% from 45 to 64, and 8.7 % who were 65 years or older. The average age was 35 years. For every 100 females of all ages were 96.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, 93.2 males.

The median income for a household was $ 49,091, and the median income for a family $ 53,901. Males had a median income of $ 43,182 versus $ 25,508 for females. The per capita income was $ 24,323. 6.4 % of the population and 4.9 % of families are below the poverty line. Of these, 6.5 % have children under the age of 18 and 12.4 % were 65 or older.
