Kenneth Preston

Kenneth O. Preston ( born February 18, 1957 in Mount Savage, Maryland) is a sergeant in the United States Army. Of 15 January 2004 to 28 February 2011, he was the 13th Sergeant Major of the Army and thus superior of the NCO corps and a member of the staff of the Chief of Staff of the Army.

Kenneth Preston came on 30 June 1975 in the Army and did his basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. During his career, he was stationed at several locations in the United States and in Germany, including the use as a tank commander. As Command Sergeant Major for Combined Joint Task Force 7, he also served in Baghdad, Iraq.

Among numerous other awards, including multiple use medals, Preston has been awarded the Bronze Star and the Legion of Merit with bronze oak leaves.
