Kerenzerberg Tunnel (road)

The Kerenzertunnel is a 5760m long road tunnel along the Lake Walen, only crossed usually only in one direction. Thus, the two-lane highway to South A3 ( Zurich -Sargans ) is passed through the Kerenzerberg. In the opposite direction there are 6 single tunnel (tunnel Ofenegg, white wall, Stand Horn, smooth wall, mill Horn, Stutz ) by which formerly the main road was led in oncoming traffic.

Before building the Kerenzertunnels there was often traffic jams on the Walenseestrasse and accidents on the bypass over the Kerenzerberg.
