The Kesselbach or the boiler Aach is an approximately 600 m long right tributary of the Zwiefalter Aach in Zwiesel in Baden- Württemberg.

Boiler source

The boiler source ( sometimes called just the boiler ) is located in Zwiesel. It is a karst spring with a bluish swelling pot. Your average bed is 700 liters per second ( min. 350 l / s, max. 1,570 l / s). A part of the source water is fed to the Albwasserversorgung. The 22 meters wide and four meters deep Quelltopf is a nature reserve and is completely fenced. The water that once flowed through the Tobeltalhöhle cleared a new path to the boiler source in the course of the millennia.

Course

Shortly after his source of Kesselbach takes on the Tobelbach, which sometimes results in the summer no water. The kettle creek flows only to the northeast, bends south-east and opens at Zwiesel monastery in the Zwiefalter Aach.

In old maps to Zwiefalter Aach and boiler Aach for Aach united. Even today, there is a sign at the confluence point out, as it was the place name Zwiesel:
