Kh-31

The AS -17 Krypton anti- radar missile is a (ARM) from Russian production, which is used for the suppression of enemy air defenses. Your seeker locks onto the frequency of the opponent's radar and uses them to meet the radar position. In GRAU index of the Russian armed forces is their name Ch -31.

Development

The development began in 1971 in the state construction office Zvezda. After a very long development time, the system was introduced in 1991 with the Russian Air Force. The AS -17 missile is one of those powerful Soviet weapons systems design, which were ready for series production until the 1990s. Due to lack of funds, the Russian armed forces were able to procure the missiles only to a very limited extent, which is why they are now being produced primarily for export.

  • KR -1: Modified version of the Kh- 31P for China.
  • MJ- 91: A modified version of the Kh- 31PD for China.
  • MJ- 93: A modified version of the Kh- 31AD for China.
  • YJ -12: Development of KR -1.
  • MA -31: target representation missile ( target drones ) for testing of air defense systems.
