Khadija bint Khuwaylid

Khadijah bint Chuwailid (Arabic خديجة بنت خويلد, DMG Ḫadīǧa bint Ḫuwaylid ) (c. 555, † 619 ) was the first wife of Muhammad and the only one with whom he lived in monogamy.

Life

Khadijah was heir to a caravanserai and a trading business in Mecca and daughter of Chuwailid from the tribe of Quraish. She was a widow and married twice before her marriage to Muhammad.
