Khalil Bendib

Khalil Bendib (* in Paris) is an Algerian artist and political cartoonist. He was born during the Algerian civil war, spent three years in Morocco before he returned six years after Algeria. After he had reached his undergraduate degree, he left Algeria with 20 years. He currently lives in Berkeley ( California). In 1982, he earned his master's degree at the University of Southern California.

Bendib was a professional political cartoonist and sculptor / ceramist. 1995 announced Bendib a post he held for eight years, to work for Gannett Newspapers (based on San Bernardino County Sun ).

Bendib spread his political caricatures usually via the Internet, where he acts independently of alternative media companies outside of the mainstream media companies. In August 2007, his first book, Mission Accomplished: Wicked Cartoons by America's Most Wanted Political Cartoonist ( German: Mission executed: Sassy Cartoons of America's favorite political cartoonist ) appeared Bendibs cartoons were published in more than 1,700 small and medium-sized newspapers.

In addition to his work as a cartoonist Bendib is co- host of a weekly one-hour radio show called Voices of the Middle East and Noth Africa ( German: Voices of the Middle East and North Africa ) at the transmitter KPFA Pacifica Radio in Berkeley ( California).

2008 organized Bendib a satire campaign for President of the United States of America, in which he demanded to be the first mulimisch - American candidate. However, it overtook 2000 A. Randall Venson, an actual candidate.
