Khassonké people

The Khassonke are an ethnic group of the Kayes region in Mali.

They are descendants of the Fulani and Malinke in the field of Khasso kingdoms and speak Khassonke, a Mande language that resembles the Bambara.

Their traditional musical instruments called dundunba ( a large cylindrical drum with two skins), Jingo (a small cylindrical drum with two skins), tantanwò (a small drum), tamandinwo ( a aisselle ( armpits ) Drum ) as well as lutes, harps and hunting whistles.
