Khojki

(proposed) U 11200- U 1124 F

Khojki or Khojiki was a font that is almost exclusively of the Khoja community in parts of South Asia, such as was used in the province of Sindh. It was used mainly to record religious literature of Muslims, Shiites and Ismailis, as well as literature for some Shiite and Muslim sects.

The ( Nizari Ismaili ) tradition assumes that the Khojki font of Pir Sadardin ( da'i Pir Sadruddin ) was created. He was then sent by the Ismaili Imam of the time, to spread the Ismaili Muslim faith in South Asia ( Jampudip ). He did this by singing and informing Ismaili -Muslim Ginans ( devotional and religious literature). Then he wrote everything down by Khojki.

UNICODE support

There is a project to encode the Khojki font in the Unicode standard, for which by Anshuman Pandey has submitted a proposal to the Unicode Technical Committee.
