Khvostof Island

Khvostof Iceland ( aleutian: Atanax ) is an uninhabited island in the Islands Council, one of the Aleutian Islands. The island rises from its west bank steeply to a height of 256 m. The eastern part of the island is characterized by a relatively uniform plateau.

Khvostof is probably the remnant of a large volcanic cone that exploded in the Tertiary as a result of a violent eruption.
